We've officially reached two years!!!  MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO! Thank you to everyone who read (or pretended to) the blog for this long. I'm not the best at updating and posting so I appreciate the love all the same. I know that last year I made quite the cow-pedia post to celebrate 1 year so it'll be tough to beat. This year I've decided to celebrate with fictional cows. We should also learn to embrace the non-existent, unrealistic parts of the cattle too!  If this is perchance your first foray into my blog, this both a true and false depiction of the content I make.  * Honorable mention to special somebody I found before we start.... This absolute diva over here is none other than 🎉 Millie the cow 🎉 My cartoon twin. If I had never ventured onto this strange Wikipedia/fandom wiki search I might never have crossed paths with her. She's spectacular.  1. Benny (from Dora the Explorer) Now, Benny here is a bull but we don't (usually) discriminate so it's a...

“Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.” ―  Plato It is said that education is the distinction between being the future and remaining a relic of the past. As centuries pass, societies evolve and human beings adapt, so do the systems that are meant to inform and teach. But have we perhaps, in the vast and never ending journey towards purpose, lost the ideals that shaped what it meant to be a student?  Yes, we have grown beyond the ancient ways of sitting under a tree and being lectured about the ways of life and yes a collective of Greek men debating about the intricacies of human nature no longer holds ground because everyone is a philosopher due to the internet, but what of the pupil? What of the young minds that governments, parents and society seek to educate? Do they still receive the basic knowledge that any citi...

The commercialization of literature has reached an all-time low. This has been the case for a hot minute now and people have been talking about it but with the advent of everything that is occurring the international scene, it is an important conversation now more than ever.  If you're part of a reading space or community, or heck you just like listening to people talk about books, it is impossible to miss the criticisms that have been flinging left and right about the state of contemporary literature. This critique does not stem from a particular genre or author, no. It's roots have taken hold to big publishing houses, literary censorship, marketing and lack of creativity. This is a problem. And when it affects a whole field, best believe it will have consequences for you too.  Publishing as a field has been in a slump because for every one or two well-written books, you get fifty of the same half-effort, poorly written novels that exclusively either romance or fantasy (or bo...

Let it be known that I tried really really hard. All for nothing. So the original Christmas/holidays themed post was supposed to be drafted by now. But due to circumstance, fate, St. Nick himself, I am writing this instead. We will not be talking about movies, books, TV shows or a trend or trend that I'm opposed to. No. Today we will be dissecting and critiquing what my post should've been. Turning the tables as a seasonal treat of sorts.  The plan was to review a bunch of things and make a mash up post or pick and choose certain media and highlight it. But I hadn't decided whether this post was supposed to be a positive one, talking about something I enjoyed or a more negative, critical one. Turns out, it's neither :')  The itinerary was as follows: Talk about the atrocity that was Spotify Wrapped.  WHAT AN ATROCITY!!! ( I have to fill in the space so the post isn't comical small somehow, hence the theatrics, my apologies! ) To watch (probably bad movies): 1. C...

This is actually a topic I've been wanting to do since the idea popped in my mind so I'm really glad I get to finally do it because this is the definition of perfect timing. Halloween and Horror movies have been something that is synonymous since the beginning of time so I figured we'd look into and dissect some famous cult classics and see if they still hold up today.  Warning: Feelings will be hurt! I figured we'd start with something simple and beloved so naturally I had to go with a Hitchcock movie. And obviously we need an apt scream queen so its a no-brainer, our first movie is none other than Psycho.  BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH  BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH MORE BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH  BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH  BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH Congrats!  If you're reading this, you got tricked!  Enjoy a complementary cow ;)  (Tricked again...

I am of the growing opinion that the true crime community is becoming less of a space to enjoy a specific kind of content and raise awareness about those topics and more about glamorizing and profiting off of actual peoples pain and suffering.  As always, I am referring to a certain group within the wider web of people and as such it should be clear I'm not generalizing. These specific creators and netizens do not represent the whole sphere but unfortunately happen to be louder than most.  I'm not someone who personally is a huge true crime fan, mostly because it's hard to watch and the topic of discussion is very raw and depressing. That being said, there are a lot of people who do like watching true crime media because its either informative, interesting or just something that you enjoy watching. Nothing wrong with that.  However, recently it has become somewhat of a trend of profit off of the stories of events that occurred in real life by making a documentary, a mini ...

It is officially 1 year since the blog started!!!  AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.  Anyways as this this a momentous occasion I decided what other way to celebrate one year of blogging than to rank cattle breeds according to the alphabet.  No, I'm not kidding. (Or am I?) Fun fact, there are over 1000 breeds of cattle that are recognized in the world today. So, I'm going to pick my favorite one from each letter the alphabet from A-Z. And we're gonna look at some cuties today! Happy 1 year anniversary to us indeed.  1. Aberdeen Angus (from Scotland) Fact about this cutie here: While the Aberdeen Angus in the UK is not at risk, the original Native Aberdeen Angus- is listed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust as 'at risk'.  2. Bachaur cattle (from India) Fact about this cutie here: This cattle was widely popular in Bihar during the days of the (TW: COLONIZATION REFERNCE) English East India Company. 3. Cachena (Portugal and Spain) Fact about these cuties: Cachena cattle are one of ...
